Love the Home You’re With

Smart fixes to turn your ugly duckling into a swan

Like many Calgarians, I’ve been surprised by the number of for sale signs that keep popping up in our inner city neighbourhoods. It seems there are more and more homes for sale and fewer and fewer people buying.

In fact, I’ve been fielding several calls recently from clients facing difficult decisions – wondering if they should risk a move or stay put in their worn out or too small home.

My answer is usually the same. Stay put if you can, but let’s see what we can do to refresh your home. Sometimes the simplest of improvements can make a tired home feel young and vibrant again.

And the good news? That refresh won’t just make your day-to-day life more enjoyable, it can also mean that your home will be picture perfect when it is time to sell.

Here’s a list of some of the most asked for improvements that we complete to revive a family home:

  • Open up the living space on the main floor.
  • Refresh a kitchen to accommodate a growing family – add an island, make room for a bigger fridge and new range, or add a pantry area
  • Create a master bedroom/ensuite sanctuary to ensure there’s a quiet space to rest and recover after crazy days juggling work and kids.
  • Take the kids downstairs by creating basement bedrooms, study spaces and entertainment areas.
  • Mudroom overhauls.

When we start on your dream project, we can also take the time to help with other small, nagging needs like replacing broken windows, applying new coats of paint indoors and out, installing new light fixtures or creating an outdoor three-season escape area.

It’s unfortunate that the Calgary housing market is still struggling, but that doesn’t mean your family has to struggle as well. We’re here to help so you can Love the Home You’re With!
